To do any DIY home improvement it is imperative you have a well stocked tool bin in your home workshop. If you cover the basics in tools every project will turn out much better and look like you hired a professional.
Thousands of helpful tools are sold and usually end up collecting dust in our workshops so let's stick to the basic must have tools for your workshop. If you select good quality tools from each of these five categories you will be able to master any project professionally.
Power Tool Router
Must have tool number one is a circular saw. This is the workhorse of the sawing category. From straight lines in or out of shop to large radius curves this must have saw can do 90% of your sawing chores. Just setup your sawhorses with a 2x4 across them for clamping and you have super handy work table.

Must have tool number three is a sander. You could do it all by hand but with an electric belt sander you do a better job in a fraction of the time. With the proper grit of sandpaper being selected you can use it for any project from trim to furniture to flooring.
Must have tool number four is the router. Many woodworkers use this tool more than any other because it really gives you the ability to add detail to any project. Your work goes from plain to WOW!
With tools it doesn't pay to cut corners select only name brands you can trust. Pick tools brands such as Porter Cable, Crafstman, Makita, or Dewalt. Other good ones are available just make sure to check their warranty and do a Google search for reviews. Price is similar for good quality brands just remember if you pay a little more now you'll be able to use the tool for twenty or more years. Talk about a good investment!
